5 Tours You Should Not Miss (If You Know What’s Good For You)

I’ve been hearing about so many great tours lately and so I thought I would compile a list of the best of them. So this is the best of the best. Do not miss these. Thanks to Pitchfork for making this a whole lot easier.

1. Nine Inch Nails

NIN Wave Goodbye

Nine Inch Nails are one of my favorite bands. In addition to making great music, Trent Reznor has become kind of a technology guru and is known as someone that is knowledgeable about new trends and more or less “what the kids are up to.” Every time I have been set to go see them something comes up and I miss it. So this is the farewell tour and I cannot miss this. I’ve heard their shows are amazing and after watching Beside You in Time I can understand why. My guess is Trent will enjoy the married life for a while and probably produce some albums, but the future of NIN is uncertain. Here are the final tour dates:

4. Pixies

No dates have been announced for this Pixies tour yet, but they are going to be playing the classic album “Doolittle” in its entirety. According to Spin, they will be playing “Oakland, Los Angeles, Seattle, Denver, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, New York City, and ‘maybe Montreal’ this fall.” According to a good friend of mine you should see them as soon as you can because “they all hate each other” and might never do this again.

It’s not too good to be true. This is happening and apparently they are all going to play at the same time…or something like that. Who knows what the hell is going to happen, but one thing is for sure; you don’t want to miss it. Plus they are coming to Bloomington, which is crazy awesome.

08-01 Medford, NJ – Flying W Airport & Pool
08-02 Brooklyn, NY – Jelly Space 2009
08-03 Millvale, PA – Mr. Smalls Theatre
08-04 Newport, KY – Southgate House
08-05 Bloomington, IN – Rhino’s
08-06 Madison, WI – UW Madison Memorial Terrace
08-07 Milwaukee, WI – Turner Hall Ballroom

Don’t forget about the other great bands that I haven’t included here but are on tour now (Dinosaur Jr, The Dead Weather, Pitchfork Music Festival, etc.)
